Getac's PS535F packs a good set of features, although they come at a price — £799 (ex. VAT) to be precise.
Like Motorola's MC55, the PS535F has a rugged (MIL-STD 810F/IP54) build, but this time there's no physical keyboard. Its dimensions are comparable at 144mm by 82.25mm by 29.3mm and 300g.
Getac's handheld runs Windows Mobile 6.1 on a 533MHz Samsung 2450 processor with 128MB of RAM and 2GB of Flash, plus an SD/SDHC card reader. The touch-screen measures 3.5in. across the diagonal, and delivers a full VGA (480-by-640-pixel) resolution.
There's no integrated mobile broadband, although Bluetooth (2.0) connection to a mobile phone is supported. Along with Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), the Getac PS535F includes GPS, an altimeter and a digital compass for pinpoint location accuracy in the field.
Image capture is handled by a 3-megapixel autofocus camera at the back.
