It would be a rare phone these days that doesn't double as a music player and a camera. To that end, the Touch Diamond offers 4GB of internal storage, plus 192MB of RAM. HTC is also touting a YouTube application developed in-house to allow viewing of video content on the phone's 2.8in., 640-by-480-pixel display. For accessing the internet, the quad-band smartphone offers HSDPA speeds of up to 384Kbps upstream and 7.2Mbps down. It's also equipped with Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and GPS.

Put simply, what is the compelling reason to pay ~$200 extra for an Eee with Windows XP? A Windows Eee won't come with any useful applications and you'll have to buy anti-virus software to boot. The truth about low cost computing is that nobody really cares whether the machine is running Windows or Linux as long as its cheap, its easy to use and it works.
