the best Apple computer for professional use
It's about as expensive as a similarly-specified PC, but is amazingly high quality in terms of engineering and design for the price. The cooling system is quiet and gives the machine some character, but I'm worried that it's not quite right...under very high load I've had the machine go to sleep on me twice, but no work was lost. In day to day use it's a dream when coupled with a 23in. cinema display, but is definitely overkill unless you're doing lots of encoding or graphic work.
If you're into hardware expansion the options are more limited than on other similar machines, but on the other hand it's a simple 'turn on and start using it' kind of machine -- no messing around. The software you get for free -- and the software you buy -- for Apple Macs is absolutely stunning and a dream to use, but upgrading from a PC could be really expensive as you've got to buy a whole new set of software.
