Sony VAIO PCV-W1 review

Thursday 5 January 2006, 5:25 PM

Ideal Entertainment PC for Bedroom NOT for Lounge

As long as you dont use it in large spaces or expect to make hardware upgrades to it this is a very good bit of kit, i am in the industry so i paid a lot less for the model too. Think i can get a digital TV tuner to fit in the PCMCIA slot to allow gigapocket to receive digital channels. So that's the next purchase.

Verdict

The VAIO W1 is an elegant and generally well-specified ‘media centre’ PC. But, like many convergence devices, it makes a number of compromises that reduce its initial appeal.
