Athlon XP/2600+: workstation performance

The Data Explorer test in the brand-new Viewperf 7 Open GL benchmark places both Athlon XP processors well ahead of the 2.53GHz Pentium 4.
In the Design Review (DRV) test, the Pentium 4 with PC1066 memory just holds its ground ahead of the Athlon XP.
In the Lightscape test, the Pentium 4 needs the faster PC1066 Rambus memory to keep it in front of the Athlon XP/2600+. With less powerful memory (PC800 Rambus and DDR333), even an Athlon XP/2200+ is faster than the 2.53GHz Pentium 4.
With Pro Engineer, the Pentium 4 with Rambus memory is faster than the Athlon XP with DDR333. However, with the same DDR333 memory type fitted, the Athlon XP has its nose in front of the Pentium 4.
