Awesome sound card!! Beats my previous Audigy 2 big time.

I got this VideoLogic Sonic Xplosion DVD for $150 at buypcdirect.com along with the Videologic Digitheatre DTS 5.1 speaker system for $600. The sound card performs superbly well with its optical digital out and onboard DTS encoding. Without a doubt, the Sonic Xplosion beats out my previous sound card, the Audigy 2. I recommend this product if you decide on using your PC as a home theater because it has great digital encoding onboard.

Verdict

Less expensive than Creative Labs’ Audigy 2 and with support for more 3D audio and surround standards, the Sonic Xplosion DVD is a good choice for the budget-conscious, but not the audiophile.
