Win a Centrino Pro-powered Lenovo laptop
[CLOSED]
Loaded with Intel's Centrino Pro, the Lenovo ThinkPad X61 notebook provides long battery life in a thin, light package that makes it easy to carry your work with you. You've got the chance to win one in the final day of our Christmas competition.
The 26.8cm by 21.1cm by 2-3.5cm ThinkPad X61 has a 12.1in. TFT-resolution screen and weighs about 1.5kg. The operating system is Windows Vista Business. The ultraportable comes with an 80GB hard drive for storage, and features innovative BatteryStretch adjustments to regular power management settings to help you work longer unplugged. Lenovo claims you'll get at least 10 hours--more than enough to last the working day.
Intel's Centrino Pro mobile technology, launched earlier this year, underpins the X61. The platform of a processor, chipset and radio promises to extend battery life and improve performance. At the heart of it is an Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 processor running at 1.6GHz, with a frontside bus of 800MHz, that can deal easily with processor-heavy tasks like VoIP calls. And when the load is light, the platform can slow down the processor to save on power.
Another energy-saving feature in Centrino Pro is Turbo Memory, a flash-based hard disk cache used to cut down on the time and energy used in system start-up, waking from sleep and loading applications.
As for connectivity, the Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN card inside the X61 provides support for the emerging 802.11n wireless LAN technology, as well as the established 802.11a/b/g standards.
