Christmas Competition 2007

Win a Toshiba e-Studio200s

[CLOSED]

Toshiba's e-Studio200s covers a lot of bases — printing, scanning, copying and faxing — making it a great fit for small businesses and home offices, where it saves valuable desk space and cuts down on cable clutter.

The £999 MFP (multifunction product) combines colour scanning with high-quality black-and-white copy and print. The flatbed scanner can handle colour, greyscale and black-and-white, and delivers images of 4,800x4,800dpi maximum resolution. What's more, it comes with "poster print" and "fit to page" options. As for black-and-white delivery, the e-Studio200s prints up to 20 pages a minute.

The all-in-one device's fax function allows you to delay fax transmissions or to reroute incoming faxes to a remote device. To avoid unwanted faxes, it lets you choose up to 10 phone numbers where transmissions will be rejected — an approach similar to the blacklists used in anti-spam software.

For those interested in cutting down on paper usage and being more "green", the e-Studio200s has features that can help. In combination with a document management system, it can be set up to scan items and store them on an IT network, creating a paperless archive. In addition, double-sided printing is standard and can be automated. Plus, it replaces a range of devices in one compact unit (448mm by 415mm by 375mm), adding up to less consumption both on the production and usage ends.

Other useful features include:

  • Up to 600x600dpi print resolution
  • ID card and clone copy
  • Ten one-touch keys, 90 abbreviated numbers
  • Scans to JPEG, TIFF, PNG, BMP formats
  • Works with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista

You can find more information on Toshiba's product range or on a multifunction product to fit your needs on the company's website.

if the OLPC winds up as a vehicle to create a dependence on Windows for millions of poor people, the net effect for humanity will be negative. What makes it good is if it leads the users to freedom through free, freedom-respecting software.
