7.4

Editors' Rating

Very Good

Typical price:£ 180

Verdict

Windows Vista Business is essentially warmed-up Windows XP. If you're currently happy with Windows XP SP2, we see no compelling reason to upgrade. On the other hand, if you need a new computer right now, Windows Vista is stable enough for everyday use... Read Full Review.

Pros

  • Improves some features within Windows XP
  • Suffers fewer system crashes than XP
  • Offers better built-in support options than XP

Cons

  • Search is not on the desktop (it's buried within applications, within the Start Menu)
  • No new software yet written exclusively for Windows Vista

  • No BitLocker drive encryption
  • No DVD Maker
  • There are too many editions of Windows Vista

Featured Talkback
