Similar to My Yahoo and the personalised Google News, the Windows Live beta lets you create a personal, dynamic login page that houses your favourite news content. Available for public beta testing at Live.com, this highly customisable service lets you select and access up-to-the-minute news as well as RSS feeds and Gadgets online.

We like the fact that Live.com organises those features into modules that you can drag and slide around the page. View our slide show of the Windows Live beta to see the features.

Underlying Live.com is the new Windows Live Search, which will eventually merge with and replace MSN Search, once it leaves public beta testing. This rebuilt search adds image lookups and interface goodies such as a nifty slider bar and scrolling, which aim to reduce the amount of clicking through pages of search results.
